2011 Hyundai Tucson Regular Key EVO ONE will not remote start

0 votes

EVO one wired to 2011 Hyundai Tucson regular key no blue data wire per evo one install 2011 hyundai tucson installation guide.  Evo one has been flashed to recommended firmware for this car, hardware 2.  The unit appears to program correctly per program #2 (car has no blue data wire) and blue light flashes rapidly after start.  Turn engine off and back to run, and the yellow light remains steady yellow.

The unit is detecting oem keyfob lock and unlock signals (blue can light flashes).  3x lock start has been activated on both remote start and bypass.  3x lock on the oem keyfob initiates remote start...the units red light goes solid red, then yellow light solid also lights up.

This is where the issue is.  The car flashes its parking lights one time, and on the dash the indicator for "door open" turns on and the dome light illuminates....but nothing happens.  There is no initiation of ignition, accesory or even an attempt at cranking.  This sequence happanes twice, and then the unit shuts down.  It does appear that the small red indicator light by the yellow "loop" is rapidly flashing during this process, as if the alarm has not been disabled?

I have rechecked all connections numerous times.  Correct locations and solid soldered connections. Have tried enabling unlock before start/locl after remote start with the same result.

Tested as both remote start and bypass mode, same results.

Any help with figuring out how to remote start with 3x lock press greatly appreciated.  The fact that the unit responds to oem keyfob presses in encouraging...would love to get RS working.

I am questionning the options on the bypass side of the EVO-ONE. If I look at the bypass side of your EVO-ONE service number, 002b01005141, it seems as though all options are actually off besides for C1 and D2.

Let's play safe here. Reset the bypass side by doing this procedure :

  1. Hold down programming button while plugging in the main connector.
  2. Let go of button when LED is RED.
  3. Push and hold button again until all three LEDs start to alternate.
  4. Disconnect unit, she is now reset.

Once the reset is done, reprogram the unit using program 2. Go back to the EVO-ONE bypass options and turn on C1, leave all default options set to ON, don't turn on D2 yet. Once that is done, try 3x lock again.

Quick reminder on using the Flash-Link Manager with the EVO-ONE. When programming options on the bypass side, make sure it says Connection Mode : Bypass on the bottom right corner. If it says Connection Mode : Remote starter, hit the toggle button with the unit disconnected to go into bypass mode.

The only options you need to change for 3x lock start with the EVO-ONE would be :

  • Function 38 mode 2 on the remote starter side
  • C1 - OEM Remote Monitoring on the bypass side

Completed your suggestion step by step.  The evo one does not respond to OEM keyfob signals...and that said, no go with the 3x lock start.

Enabling oem 3x lock start on the bypass side picks the signal up again, but I'm at square one with the same issue as above.  The parking lights flash, the door open indicator lights up, the dome light comes one for a few seconds, parking lights flash once again, everything goes out, and the process repeats a second time.

I saw somewhere online here that the evo puts out a door open signal to kill the lights?  Could this play a factor here?

I'm really stumped.  Voltages all look good from the ignition barrel.  I get red light on remote start, then yellow light and blue can activity...I can hear relays clicking.  Still nothing but door open light on the dash comming on with the dome light and going off.
