2009 Hyundai Santa Fe with Evo-all and Crimestopper RS7-G5

0 votes

I am planning to install remote starter in a 2009 Hyundai Santa Fe and want to combine Evo-all with a Crimestopper RS07-G5, but have a few questions before I proceed:

a) As you can see from the picture below, (~)Data wire in pin 6 is absent. Does it mean for SURE that the car is not equipped with an immobilizer bypass?

b) Will I still need to tap to Door Lock/Unlock wires from RS07-G5 harness or Evo-All CanBus will take care of doors Lock/Unlock?

c) How will Evo-All be powered?

d) According to Connection 13 of the Evo-All guide (page 18 of 46), I will need to connect Black wire=>Foot Brake status, Pink wire=>Tachometer and Dk.Blue wire=>(-)While Running to corresponding wires on  the Crimestopper Unit and Yellow Wire=>Car's Ignition.  Does it mean that I will not need to use any other wires on the RS07-G5 unit if I interconnect these two with a Data-Link Cable?

Thank you in advance,

Michael

Now wire = no transponder bypass.

The EVO-ALL in this case can be used to give you foot brake and tach status. Connections would be

  • yellow to ignition
  • Dk. Blue to rmeote starter ground while running
  • Gray to Can high
  • Gray/Black to Can low

You can also just forget about using the module itself and connect the remote starter inputs for tach and foot brake directly to the vehicle.

Thank you Robert.

As much as I like Evo-All module, it seems useless for this particular installation. CrimeStopper has an excellent TachLess mode so I won't even need to hook up Tach wire, only brake wire.

My biggest concern is Door locks.

Do you know how I could tap into 2009 Hyundai Santa Fe door locks? They say I might need to send a negative pulse to 3 wires at the same time to initiate door lock/unlock - I'm not sure how it's done and I would really appreciate your help!

I won't argue, you really don't need the EVO-ALL since all you're getting from it would be tach and foot brake which would be easier just to connect them straight up. Or as you said, use tachless.

Door locks are simple but you have 5 wires to connect.

Rob, this is fantastic - Thank You so much.

There is a way, in RS07-G5, to set up your OEM key fob to remotely start the car, Do I need to make all of these door connections if I want to set my OEM remote to start up the car? Since it locks/unlocks doors anyway?

Also, I don't think there is an alarm in the car. I opened the window, closed the door and locked the car. Then, thru the open window, pulled the door latch. Door opened, but there was no siren and none of lights blinked.

Thanks
It may not have an alarm. Make sure to wait a minute after locking the doors to do that test.

The crimestopper requires a connection to the vehicles that gives you some sort of signal when pressing lock on the remote. I am not sure that the wires in the picture will respond to the remote, they are from the actual key hole in the door i believe. Normally, that input to the crimestopper would connect to the door lock motor itself since there is normally no actual wires in any vehicle that will give a signal from the factory remote, besides for going straight to the actual lock motor itself.
I will do the "1 minute" alarm test. If there's no alarm, does it mean that I don't need to connect arm/disarm wires?

Are those DIODES coming from (-)Disarm Input wire?

I'm super confused with this locking mechanism, here's what another guide says, I'd appreciate if you can decypher it:

Use the UNLOCK wire, GRAY/BLACK (-)
and both the
FACTORY ALARM DIS-ARM wire, PINK/GRAY(-)
and the
UNLOCK Detection wire, GRAY(-)
all 3 wires must be used to UNLOCK the Doors,
also Requires a DOUBLE PULSE.
TEST these wires while TURNING the KEY in the DRIVERS DOOR

just do connections as per diagram above. The diagram takes into consideration the the remote starter you are using as both lock/unlock and arm/disarm outputs (4 independant wires). If your starter only has 2 wires that control lock/unlock, then you will have to split the outputs so that everything gets powered.

EXAMPLES.... you will need some diodes...

  • Lock split in 2 to power the ARM and LOCK vehicles wires
  • Unlock split in 3 to power UNLOCK, DISARM and KEY DETECTION (named disarm in diagram)

The diagram is to give you a general idea of what needs to be powered in the vehicle.

As the other guy said, they will test from turning the Key in the drivers door. You also need to program the remote starter for double pulse unlock.
