car shuts off when door is opened

after remote start- the engine shuts off when i open the door-- how do i keep car running so im not restarting the vehicle everytime

That is exactly how your remote start is supposed to work. Why are you opening the door if you are not ready to drive the car ?

No, most cars you have take over which doesn't shut down car when doors open. There are a few that doesn't have take over. You haven't mentioned exactly what vehicle you have so its all speculation at this point.
