Subaru Legacy Rear Defrost (Aux1)

Question

015 Subaru Legacy std key SUB1 harness installation.  EVO-ONE. I'm trying to turn on the rear defrost when the car is remote started.  As instructed in other posts, I tied the AUX (yellow/black) wire to the negative wire identified as the defrost trigger on WireColor (behind dash fuse box, pin 26, purple / green).  I then set option 25 as pulse (0.5).  When the car starts there's still no sign of the rear defrost being enabled.  The button can still be toggled manually but does not come on at start.  Even though other areas had this listed as pulse, I did go through the latch settings just in case but none worked.  Am I missing an additional step here?
