2009 Kia Sedona doorlocks

0 votes
2009 Sedona install was done mid december 2015 - Autostart with Evo-all, initially used 76.22 programmed fine but no door lock control, tried 76.21 and 76.20 still no door locks, called tech support, they suggested trying 76.10; Program 76.10 doorlocks work, needed to set double pulse unlock on the autostart to have passenger door unlock(76.10 doesnt have the option of double pulse unlock)

Customer calls me back the other day and the following is occuring: when the vehicle is running under remote start all doors will unlock with one press, however when the vehicle is off hitting unlock will unlock all doors except the drivers door, if you hit unlock a second time then the drivers door will unlock.

Any thoughts?

The autostart should have a double pulse unlock option available. it's only recent that we offer the option in the EVO-ALL.

If the autostart does not have an option for it., does it have a dedicated disarm output? Technically, wiring both the disarm and unlock together would give you a double automatically.

I saw your other response a few days ago but forgot to go back to answer...
Apologies for that.

Seems like the evo fell into the wrong mode so its using another vehicles lock-unlock commands. Door locks is one of the main reasons we have to bring cars in when a new vehicle comes out, it's always different.

i would suggest just using an older firmware such as 76.10. Even 4.18 would work on this vehicle but you may lose the D2D option with 4.18.

My two suggestions would be to first check if pulsing the unlock analog input on the evo to see if maybe the problem is coming rom datalink. if this doesnt solve it and it acts the same, unfortunately it will be a firmware downgrade. Please let us know if downgrading the firmware is the solution.
Thanks for the reply Robert, I am currently using 76.10, I can try 4.18 although I was avoiding that because of losing D2D, I have already tried pulsing the analog wires and same thing, I will try the downgrade and let you know

Usually, any calls about Sedona and Sportage is because they can't find the security module for the key data wire. Worst case connect the locks. The Body Can-Bus (the ones in the back of the fuse box) may be giving you grief.

  • Lock/Arm : Red
  • Unlock/Disarm: orange

Both are located in the driver door unfortunately.
