MyCar Telematics starts then turns off after a few seconds

0 votes

Vehicle: 2011 Toyota Corolla S (G-Key), manufactured in CAN.

Evo-One w/T-harness installed and working properly using OEM remote (3x lock to start).

When trying to start vehicle via the MyCar app, the engine will start and as soon as the doors auto lock the engine will shut off.

I have installed the MyCar Controls telematics unit based on the guide here: http://cdn02.fortin.ca/download/64631/autolink-install-guide-64631.pdf#page9

I used the HRN-LLRS-01 connector as instructed.

“Fortin 2” selected in RF section of configuration tab in FlashLink Manager.

MyCar Controls app Device Protocol: Fortin

Please help!

I have had the same issue with MyCar. But not every time. The product is hit and miss as you can see by the app ratings. Are you getting signal bars on the App? Did you connect the dotted power lines or yellow horn line, if so try disconnecting. Try resetting the MyCar unit. Are you running addition RF unit, this may be a compatibility issue, disconnect that and try.

I did not connect the dotted lines nor the yellow horn line.

I do have good cellular reception.

I have disconnected and reconnected the unit many times.

I am not using an additional RF kit.

I noticed the other day when I was trying to diagnose it that when starting with the MyCar app, the TPMS light will come on and the engine will shut off. This only happens when starting with the app, the engine will start with no issues when using 3x lock on OEM fob.

Here is a 22 second demonstration of the issue: https://youtu.be/s6PzOXjwXj8
Call Mycar/Automob and send them the video clip, should be able to help. They had been having troubles lately. I had to call a couple in and have them reset on their side for them to  work correctly
