RS232/USB/Arduino communication from PC to EVO ALL

I am wondering if the EVO ALL can be hooked up to a microcomputer (arduino) via UART or using an RS232/USB to a computer? I am wanting to control my canbus in my 2011 Dodge Nitro Heat 4x4 like windows up/down, door locks, RPMs, Break, etc. Is this possible using the EVO ALL (http://ifar.ca/en/vehicles/dodge/nitro/2011/) that your company offers?

 

If thats not possible can i get any type of RF remote and program the buttons to, say, unlock the door, lock the door, etc?

 

Also, is there a push button start for this car?

The EVO does not have any RF receiver. Trying to program an RF remote to it will not work. Their are companirs though that make RF-Kits (remote and antenna) that can be used with the EVO-ALL. They connect directly in the EVOs datalink plug to communicate.

The EVO can only detect and control what we have listed on the page for the 2011 Nitro. Window roll up/down and RPM management is not in the features we offer :(. Those would require much more R'n'D and are not features required for remote starter/alarm installations, which is what our focus is on.

  • Tranponder bypass
  • Can detect and control lock and unlock
  • will arm and disarm the vehicle on lock and unlock
  • opens the trunk
  • detects hood open or closed
  • detects doors open or closed
  • provides tachometer on/off
  • detects handbrake
  • detects footbrake

The EVO has both RS232 and hardwired negative trigger inputs and outputs. I know it would be much more fun to communicate via datalink from a PC, but we unfortunately cannot hand out the protocol used.

So sounds like the datalink would be fesable but you dont want to give the codes out? Ever considered making a .dll then that can be used in .net programs to control it without needing to give code source out?

The EVO is not meant to be used as a hobiest toy. It's meant to used as a tool by the professionals in the aftermarket remote start industry to simplify and actually be able to, install remote starters in over 3,000 vehicles. Trying to use the EVO other then remote starter/alarm needs will cause you more grief then anything else.
