2009 Jeep Grand Cherokee Won't Come Out Of Park During Key Takeover

+1 vote
2009 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Crimestopper RS1-G5, EVO-ALL & THAR-CHR4. Everything works and programmed as it should. If performing key takeover, shifter will not move from park. Shut R.S. off first, and it works fine. Customer has not come back in yet as I haven't had time to look at it yet. (So I don't recall the firmware version, but I think I used the minimum stated, 4.09) I *think* I ran into this before, but was quite some time ago and don't remember a cure. Thoughts?

The cure is actually in the most recent installation guides. Theres a wire that needs to be cut in the t-harness and rejoined somewhere else. This, for all vehicles 2010 and less for that connection.

I tried cutting the yellow wire as shown in the link above. The side that goes to the vehicle half, just above the factory splice with the yellow and yellow/red and taped it off. I then connected the yellow/green to the other side as shown, and now the vehicle won't even start.
You should be cutting the yellow of the T-harness that goes into the key module, not the side that goes into the factory harness. Sounds like the wrong one is cut
If that's the case, then the diagram is wrong, as it shows cutting and taping the yellow that comes from the car side, not the ignition key side. I'll try it and see what it does.
Not to argue, but the diagram shows cutting a yellow in the T-harness that's going to the WIN module, not the one that plugs into the factory harness
I tried it the way you described, and it works. Thank you. I wasn't trying to come off as argumentative Robert, and if I did I apologize. But when I view that diagram, the way I interpret it is opposite. Prob. why I'm almost certain I've run into this before. Logically, my mind thinks different.
No need to apologize, I know you weren't being argumentative, no worries on that. I am the most laid back person on the planet so... yeah.. If it's happened to you before, that means it happens to other people as well, this can easily be an indicator that maybe something such as a description needs to added to the install guide.
