On Prius 2009 push to start when trying to program EVO-ALL yellow led start blinking and stays that way

Please help with this matter. I own a Toyota Prius 2009 (JTDKN36U701024344) push to start and bought EVO-ALL (Service #: 001A06 465230) and Flash-Link-2 (Service #: 002502 016969) flashed the last firmware for my car and verifyed 10 times that wire connection are correct. Problem is that this model of Toyota seems to have kind of different ECU connections, as par example Rx is on pin 16 on L7 connector and Tx on pin 4 on the L7 connector. I hooked up the rest of wires accordingly to your schematics (A1 to red wire Ignition on the connector showed in schematics, and CAN high an low on pins 6 & 14 on OBD-II connector along withB4 on pin 16) the A14 wire not hooked up as my L7 connector is differend as I said before (also is white instead of black). Then followed programming procedure but instead of a fast blinking blue led on the x2 start push button I get a fast blinking yellow led. Please advise. A connection diagram for this specific car will be extraordinary.

Are you installing to start with 3x lock or using a seperate remote starter ? What is the guide number you are looking at for your install ?

If your vehicle is a 2009 you are looking at the wrong guide. 3x lock is not available for a 2009 you will need a seperate remote starter and follow this guide http://fortin.ca/download/3445/evo-all_toyota_prius_(2004-2009).rev-20110610.pdf

Thank you Mathieu for the fast answer. The schematics you refeer to are incorrect as my Prius is a Gen 3 manufacturing year 2009 (early ones, maybe from there some minor issues). I have a separate Compustar CS-700AS Car Auto Remote Car Starter & Alarm System which I intend to use for remote start. The EVO-ALL is for baypass purposes only and I cannot get it programmed in car correctly. Any toughts? As I said before and different from the schematics on the Frotin site, Rx ant Tx are on the right connector (L7) but on different pins, OBD II is universal so I thinc no connection mistake there... the only one remaining and can be the mistake there is the ignition wire. I linked the A1 wire to the red wire in the connector showed on schematics (fortin.ca/download/32731/evo-all_ct200h_hs250h_prius_prius_v_(2010-2013)_-_no_key_takeover.rev-20150508.pdf)

Does your vehicle have a keyport in the lower dash area ? Something you would insert your key in case of a dead battery in your remote.

Please provide your complete serial number ( the one on top is not good)

I personnaly own a 2010 prius and I can tell that the guide has no mistakes and it works perfectly. If you do not have the RX and TX wires shown in the guide, my guess is that you have a 2009.

Our guides shows connectors from the wire side. It is a different view then if you look in the service manual or TIS diagrams.
No, it does not have a keyport and it's a Gen 3. The guide I use if for a 2010 Prius (link in the upper comment), latest firmware flashed. My guess is that earlier Gen 3 have a slightly different connections on the ECU side. As I mentioned in the first post the L7 connector is black on all Gen3, on mine it is white...

Tx and Rx are Pins 16 (Green) and 4 (Purple) respectively at the L7 connector on the 2010 Prius in North  America. If there are any differences on non-North American vehicles, we do not have access to that info. We have contacted Fortin Russia, which has the exlcusive rights on our products over seas, to see if they have any info on this vehicle.

 

In the meanwhile, feel free to post some pictures of that L7 connector that you have. From far and from close.

 

I would also like to add something to what you mentionned in your original question...

This means that the connection of the Light Blue wire is no good.  The EVO-ALL has diagnostics that test your connections.

Spoke to our Russian team. This is their results.

Outcome: New Prius since 2010 working on CAN and RxTx.

  • Prius-3 (ZVW30)
  • Prius-3 PHV (ZVW35)
  • Prius-V (ZVW40)

Pictures with connection below. I'll try o explain also.

Its' a Prius 3 no doubt (but factory date is 2009).

Looking at the pictures I see now that I putted A10 to PIN 17 on L7 instead PIN 16... because there is no PIN 16 (or at least a wire connected to it.

Can somebody please help with correct pins for my L7 connection. Pictures, schematics... something to make it work.

 

 

 

On the other side of the connector there is no PIN16 either (it cannot be seen in the picture but I can assure you that there's none)

The vehicle is a 2010 according to the VIN so we stick with that.

 

As for the connections, it's possible that like the Toyota Corolla there is no wires in the pins for Rx and Tx. At the moment your connections are also on the wrong side of the connector. Take a look at the install diagram and then your L7 connector. The diagram shows a BACK view of the connector. Since there is no wires in both Rx and Tx, you will need to put wires in those empty pins.

 

See the picture. Your current connections go to the wrong locations.

My mistake was to think that if there are no wires and no pins to attach to ... then something is wrong. Tomorrow I will try to put A10 and A20 wires on the empy pins. Thank you!
Ya, the Toyota Corolla in North America is the same. The pins are empty so we must add wires to them. This is most likely the same thing with your Prius.
Thank you all for opening my eyes :) Everything now is ok and works properly. I can start the engine by 3x press close doors on my 2 buttons remote ;)

My mistake was to stupidly assume that my connector is not ok and try to figure out usig other schematics wich wire goes where. No wire in pin 4 and 16 and tought that i have to link to another wire. When using the pins stated in the Fortin schematics everything went PERFECT!

Your VIN number has an error in it, but if the car is a 2009 then you have to flash your evo-all for a 2009 as your evo-all is currently flashed for a 2010 and the install is completely different.
